Plant Pot (Gray ribbed planter)

The pot is a gray ribbed planter. It is a modern, minimalist style pot, made of concrete, and features vertical lines or grooves on its exterior.
This style is popular for both indoor and outdoor plants.

The plant is an Arrowhead plant (Syngonium podophyllum), which is also known by the common names arrowhead vine, goosefoot, and nephthytis.

Arrowhead plants are a popular choice for indoor gardening because they are low-maintenance and thrive in a range of conditions. The plant is native to the tropical regions of Central and South America.

Care and Growth

  • Light: The plant grows best in bright, indirect light, which helps maintain the vibrant color of its leaves. Direct sunlight can scorch the leaves and cause them to turn pale or yellowish. It can tolerate lower light levels, but growth may be slower and the leaves may become sparse.
  • Water: Water the plant when the top inch of soil feels dry to the touch. It prefers soil that is consistently moist but not waterlogged, as it is susceptible to root rot from overwatering.
  • Humidity: As a tropical plant, the arrowhead plant loves warm, humid environments, but it can tolerate average household humidity. To increase humidity, the plant can be misted, placed on a tray of pebbles with water, or kept in a naturally humid room like a bathroom.
  • Soil: A well-draining potting mix is ideal to prevent the soil from becoming soggy.
  • Growth: Young arrowhead plants tend to have a bushy, upright form. As they mature, they will grow long, vining stems that can either trail from a pot or climb a support, such as a moss pole. Regular pruning can help maintain a more compact, bushy shape.
  • Toxicity: The plant is toxic to humans and pets if ingested, as its sap contains calcium oxalate crystals that can cause irritation and swelling of the mouth and throat. It is recommended to keep it out of reach of children and animals
